Carpathian Tours & Tickets

Every sensible way to see the castles, the peaks and the bears — compared, priced and bookable in a couple of taps.

There is no single “best” Carpathian tour — there is the right one for the city you are sleeping in. Kraków, Zakopane, Bucharest and Brașov are the four big starting points, and the list below is grouped by exactly that.

Everything here is booked through GetYourGuide, which means live availability, free cancellation on most options and reserve-now-pay-later on many. Prices are indicative “from” starting points in euros and change with the season — tap any card for the live price in your own currency. Castle and national-park entrance fees are sometimes included and sometimes not; each listing spells it out.

Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Carpathian tour is best value?

The big-selling day trips — Kraków to Zakopane and Bucharest to Bran, Peleș and Brașov — start from around €15–30 and are extremely good value, though entrance fees and extras may cost more on the day.

Are castle and park tickets included?

Often not in the cheapest trips. Bran and Peleș charge separately, as do Tatra National Park and the cable cars. Always check the “includes” section of each listing.

Is a day trip from Bucharest too long?

Expect 11–12 hours with 6 or more hours in a vehicle, mostly because of Prahova valley traffic. If you can, spend a night or two in Brașov instead.

Are there tours in the Ukrainian Carpathians?

We do not list any. Most governments advise against travel to Ukraine while the war continues.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Most listings offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, and many let you reserve now and pay later. Exact terms are shown on each tour page before you confirm.
